What to expect: Students will learn the art of working with this 12th century art form. Over time the silver application will tarnish creating warmer tones in your drawing. The principles of value and composition will be emphasized using simple images for creating contrast, ie., an interior, a still life, and a minimalist landscape. In addition, you will experiment with the following techniques for applying the silverpoint stylus to a substrate:

  • Cross-hatching

  • Shading & blending

  • Burnishing

Meditative exercises will help to minimize inhibitions and fears associated with the creative process. A supply list will be provided when the class is determined to run.

*A Zoom link will be sent on the day the class starts.
