Painting Abstract Trees, One Day Workshop, In-Person, 12/9

Location: Portland New Church, 302 Stevens Avenue, Portland, ME
Level: Beginner - Advanced
What to Expect: In this abstract oil painting workshop, learn how to find your own unique style of painting abstract trees through exercises in letting go and trusting the creative process.
Photos will be used as inspiration. You will have the opportunity to experiment with a number of different techniques, including
Impasto
Scraping
Stippling
Glazing
Gestural painting
A short meditation will be used to overcome natural inhibitions and perfectionism in order to paint expressively.
No experience is required, just an openness to making new creative discoveries.
An oil painting supply list (solvent-free) will be provided when the class is determined to run. Students are welcome to use acrylic if preferred.
