This session will include but is not limited to:

  • A demonstration from me

  • Honing in on your specific needs and level of painting or drawing

  • Handling of brushes and materials

  • Brushstroke on canvas or different drawing techniques, for example

My objective as your teacher is to cater to your needs. I’d like to learn how you approach your art as we start. We may practice mindfulness techniques, focusing on the breath to reach the ideal state of mind for approaching your work. By the time you leave, you will be enlightened about the love of creating art.

This session is an excellent place to start if you want to brush up on or build upon previous knowledge.

Q & A:

1.Do I need to have any prior experience?

No, you do not need prior experience. I welcome students of any background.

2. Can a session be held in person?

Yes. We can schedule a convenient time to meet at the Portland New Church.

3. How effective is Zoom for one-on-one instruction?

I use a second device (an iPad) for closeups of what I’m demonstrating so you will see exactly what I’m sharing. Lighting and angles can be adjusted as needed. To compensate for slight color differences with the camera, I will also describe the exact mixtures of color pertaining to values.

4. Can a session be recorded?

Yes.

5. Can I cancel a class?

Yes, though I ask for 24 hours in advance notice.

6. Can a promo code apply to a private session?

Yes. If you have signed up for my newsletter and received the 10% off, this session is eligible for that discount. You can go here to sign up.

7. Can I have instruction in any medium?

Instruction is open to oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, and all drawing mediums. Please inquire if you have any questions about a specific medium.

*Payment is based on each student.

*We will arrange a 15-minute call by Zoom or phone and then schedule the painting session. We will discuss what materials to bring to the session and your expectations for the class.
